Thwarted again!

So this is our new little friend. I affectionately call him "I hate you you stupid animal for keeping me up all night!" But we call him Racco for short.

Racco is a sneaky little thief. He waits until we close down for the night, then climbs the fence into the "Food storage center" and happily eats a nice free buffet.

We have tried telling him that we close the doors at 9:00pm, but he just doesn't listen. We have even had the security guard (our Dog) talk to him a few times, but to no avail. We are now in the proses of setting up a complex sting operation. So far we have been unsuccessful. I will update as things progress.

Please take one more good look at this masked criminal. He is mostly gray with a black mask, he has a ringed tail, and if you look closely at his left front paw, you will see what police are assuming is an old prison tattoo in the shape of a scull and cross bones. Please call if you have any information regarding this case.

Confessions from a mom

So, I am totally stealing this from my friend Donna. It was just to good not to share.

Have you ever:

Had to pick Chuck E Cheese tickets out of your bed at night?

Gone pee-pee while on hold with the cable company (and had the dude answer a little sooner than you expected)?

Been tired enough to actually give your child a hostess cupcake to eat on the couch?

Awaken to a suspiciously warm, wet sensation coming from a sleeping child beside you and just closed your eyes again, praying for another 5 minutes?

Silently hoped the kids would fall asleep on the drive home so you wouldn't have to brush their teeth?

Slipped your kids a treat for being exceedingly cute, even though they'd had enough sugar already?

Been scolded for trying to flip multiple pages at once to get through a particularly obnoxious children's book?

Ignored your pressing To Do List so you could cuddle your kiddo on the couch?

Hidden candy wrappers at the bottom of the trash can so no one (not even you) will see the evidence of your binge-a-licious crime?

Been mid-diaper/ -mess/ -project and looked the other way while the baby ate something (that's right, I'm gonna say it)- from last night's dinner that he found on the floor?

Congratulated your kid for hitting another child who has been mean, while at the same time trying to look like you are punishing him?

Put your potty trained child back in a diaper so you could lock him in his room with a movie while you go take a nap?

Praised you child for peeing on the play ground because at least it wasn't in his pants?

...Oh. I have!

Justin is 5

Yes, he has turned 5. And yes, I know he turned 5 in like December, but I'm just now getting to it, so deal.
He has waited through all his friends birthdays, and his brothers and now it is FINALLY his turn.

His cake was a target, just in case you couldn't tell. I also had to warn the parents not to be alarmed if certain bodily emissions were red tinged, it's just the frosting.

We reserved the gym at the church so the boys (and one girl) could have "Nerf Wars!"

It was hilarious. They had so much fun acting like little gun slingers and army men.

Under the knife

So the boys both got to have surgery.
Dawson was easy. He was in and out in under 15 min. He only had ear tubes put in. He looked so tiny in his little hospital gown.

Then it was Justin's turn. He was happily waiting in his room watching cartoons and wasn't even scared at all when they came to wheel him out.

BEFORE.

AFTER

Justin had ear tubes put in and his tonsils and adenoids taken out. He was not a happy camper. It was so pathetic, he just lied there and had silent tears running down his face because it hurt to cry out loud.

A little later in the recovery room he was still a little loopy. I asked him to show me his IV and he wasn't quite sure how to do it. So i told him to just put his hand by his face.

This is about an hour later, right after told him what the IV was doing. He was amazed to find out that he could drink water through his hand, and wanted to show daddy.
We had to stay in the hospital for a few hours, which was good because he kept throwing up blood.
All in all, a real fun day.

Christmas 09

Christmas 2009
We have, in one of the neighboring subdivisions, a little old man who decks out his yard to look like Santa's work shop and plays Santa for all the kids. Thus making it so we don't have to go fight the mobs at the mall and pay 50$ to sit on Santa's lap. Needless to say, we love this man.

Christmas night, we got a pic of the house just afters Santa's departure. It was a great catch, even if i do say so myself.

Justin enters the arena. The house is still in one piece.........
He is then joined by his partner in crime, Dawson. Wait for it.................Not yet................

Almost there....................

BAM!
And then it was over. Merry Christmas 2009

A moral to live by.

So, a couple days ago, I had a dumb moment. I know what most of you are thinking, "WHAT!, say it isn't so, not Emily, she never has those." I hate to break it to you like this, but I do. Anyway, like any other morning, I got up, put on my husbands bathrobe, and started making breakfast. If that is TMI for you, maybe you shouldn't be reading my blog. I had just finished cleaning up and was sitting down to eat my own bowl of cereal when I heard a knock on the door. "Who the heck is at my house at this hour of the morning", I thought to myself. So I looked out the peep hole. There was this lady, all dressed up and holding a clip board. "Sales lady?????", I thought, "JW???? Census taker????? OH CRAP! I have a meeting this morning." Yes ladies and gentlemen, I had a meeting with my sons case worker and had totally spaced it. Well what was I to do, I ask you? I had to open the door, she had obviously heard me and the kids moving around inside the house. So there I was, standing there in my husbands bathrobe holding a bowl of cereal, apologizing my butt off for my appearance. Did we have the meeting, you ask. Yes. Was it totally awkward? Yes, but will I remember the next one? YES!!! The moral of this story is, if someone knocks at your door to early in the morning...................................... just pretend you didn't hear it and hide untill they go away!!!!

Dawson turns 2

Hi, my name is Dawson and today I am 2. I am 36 3\4 inches tall and 30 lbs.
I love to run and climb. I have almost all my teeth and enjoy brushing them. I still don't say very much, but I am working with a speech therapist and just had my first hearing exam. It looks like I am having trouble hearing on my left side. But not to fear, they think they can correct it by putting in tubes and clearing the ear canal. Keep me in your prayers.

Smile for the camera Dawson, Dawson up hear. SMILE!!

OOOO look! something shiny!
Oh ya, look at the camera. Crap, I keep forgetting. The cake was fun. Don't be to impressed though, I had help.

I molded the tractor out of rice-crispy treats, then frosted it. My friend Don made the wheat and mud field.

He blew them out all by himself.
He was sooooo excited about his new bike.
We made a big tractor out of washer and dryer boxes.
But mostly the kids just liked running around.
